The sun sets on another day…
We chased sunset to the ends of the earth and missed it by moments. The spot we chose had let the mountains swallow the sun and the sky began its quest to become dark. There was little time left but it was good time, and the beauty was overwhelming.
There was a movie at one time created called Click. The movie was a little strange because it was thought to be a comedy but was actually a very thoughtful drama that looked at all of our decisions in life and how we spent them. Yes, we do spend decisions. One of the key areas of the movie was a remote that had the ability to do a great deal as in Fast forward and pause the world around us. It was a ridiculous idea but the thought behind it and the message was good.
Wouldn’t it be nice to just be able to pause for a moment. Wouldn’t it be nice to take a step back and let the world stop while we took a breath? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to reflect on decisions and determine a path that was better without having to overthink or more?
I have a friend who is going through a rough time right now. I have seen so many go through similar. Soon he will face that last adventure that all too many people dread and run from. Soon he will have no choice there’s so many people I know have faced. It’s hard to fathom how short our lives are, in the grand scope of things our lives are a speck of dust laying in a desert full of sand. No matter what your beliefs our lives are limited on this earth and in the end, we have no choice but to surrender ourselves.
Ick, that sounds so depressing.
As I talked to this gentleman today, he was pleasant and happy, complimented me on my writing, shared with me that he reads 29,000 sunsets, his wife loves my books, and that he was ready. Where was the pause? He didn’t really need one, instead he lived positively and keeps living positively, not succumbing to grief and despair or finding room to hate the world and try to punish it. His pleasant attitude was to lift others up and have the courage to give more of himself than was given to him. His beliefs are strong and with the prowess of his power, he will find a way forward where happiness awaits. Along the way he will still spread positivity and make a difference to everyone around him.
Isn’t this the right way? No matter what your feelings about faith or the world, isn’t it the right way to spread happiness and positivity every moment that you can? Isn’t it the right way to grasp life and find the way to your own positivity always? Sometimes things will be dark, but we make a choice to be the light.
So as the sun sets on another day, hold on to life and hold on to love. Give all you can and perhaps a little more and take what is given to you because it might just be needed. We are not alone in this world unless we decide that we want to be alone. We have the ability to rise above and find a way every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and love life a little more, it deserves it…
