The sun sets on another day…
It was a spectacular sunset from the ballpark, I smiled as another strike hit and although our team lost it was a magnificent game down to the end.
As I sat in the ballpark today there was a large family in front of me. I spoke to some of them and some of the more afraid to speak to me. I don’t blame them, I’m a monster. Anyway, the family had a unique way of interacting in that every third inning they would rotate and could not sit next to the same person they sat next to before. It encouraged interaction and people had a good time with only a few of them resisting.
I’m not sure what has happened to this type of family interaction but it’s missing. The people in front of me were talking and laughing and truly enjoying each other while I saw others at a baseball game mindlessly scrolling through their phones and occasionally looking up. I wonder what would have happened if the ball would have come at them except it may have ruined their nice phone.
We should all interact and enjoy each other, not just for family but as people. We cultivate fear when we should cultivate interaction, we grasp on to the negative when there are so many positives. I made a few good new friends at this event and enjoyed it but also I got to see people and that too was fun.
So as the sun sets on another day, people are important, not just as an occasional craziness, but as a group that we can enjoy and make our lives better. Hold on tight and make the world yours everyday, and take a few others along with you, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and play ball…
