The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was a windy bit of colorful fun. Color was everywhere, and the moments slid past as twilight brought darkness across the horizon. It was a spectacular day.
There is an old saying to never count your chickens before they hatch. We also have a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and dozens of other sayings that align with not being sure of what you think is a sure thing.
I have personal stories that align with this including a friend who said something wasn’t happening and then it did. It often makes me smile, laugh, or just shake my head as I consider the possibilities and probabilities and realities of the world.
Yesterday I broke 50,000 words a new nonfiction novel. Today, I have been rewriting certain sections as I checked my notes and verified the things that happened. The words count went up and down as I moved things around. It got pretty funny as I copied and pasted chunks into different areas and in the end I was still well over 50,000 heading for far more.
Take a moment before you are sure of something and make sure that it is a sure thing. There are lots of those in the world, and lots of people who are so sure about one thing or another did they lose sight that there is always another option. That’s just what it is.
For me I felt like I made a touchdown, made an oops, and then realized I had made a touchdown anyway, and laughed about it as I kept writing and now have moved far beyond the goal that was set for this month. It’s all good, it’s all great.
So as the sun sets on another day, smile brightly, laugh hardily, have an omelette, but don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Instead, keep the eggs warm and enjoy the peeps when they come out. I know you can do it, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and keep achieving more…
