The sun sets on another day…
I watched the sky fill with white flakes once again, it was beautiful, it was sparkly, it was pretty darn cold. I smiled as I thought about the truths that each one of those statements made.
It’s funny how different people can see the same thing and have a completely different opinion of it. The world is full of opinions and many of them are somewhat accurate, or are they?
I was discussing this with my daughter and as I did we described a very similar situation in a conflicting manner. Both of my daughters are incredibly intelligent, but my youngest has a tendency to look at the world and try to understand it, somewhat like me. If you go way back on 29,000 sunsets she wrote several pieces on love.
Anyway, she was talking about how cold she was in 55°. When I told her that it was 16° where I was she was appalled and noted that that wasn’t cold that was a bad lifestyle choice. We laughed about it and I hung up with a feeling that the world is full of visions that may or may not align to truths. After all, someone living in the arctic would think 16° a little balmy perhaps.
All I wanted to say today is that maybe, just maybe, before you determine that your way is the only way and that your opinion is the only opinion, that you should listen for a few minutes and try to understand alternatives. Believe it or not, you could be right, but you could also be very wrong.
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s a little crisp outside, but it feels good to me and I’ll enjoy it every moment of the day that I can. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic evening and that wherever you are you find the warmth that you need. I hope also that you listen and enjoy every moment, no matter what.
