The sun sets on another day…
The rain fell lightly on the windows and the wipers swept it away. It was warm, yet the world was a bit at peace, and as I enjoyed the shifting gray, the skies waited for something else.
I have seen several tornados in my life. No, not on TV or the net, but in person.
The first I saw was with my little sister. We were in Indianapolis, watching a storm roll in and saw the skies of a front then watched the clouds twist down to the ground, then all hell broke loose. We sat in the house with the recommended windows open, as the wind pelted our small house. We huddled together, alone. (I wrote this previously here)
Tonight I did not see a tornado, but I surfed against it in a car on a road running from a storm. The night was full of adventure already as we attended the HSF yearly ball, in all dress we left in a hurry to try to beat a storm to the house. As we headed south the radar continued to show the storms heading east, only a few miles away, but we kept moving and the angle of the storm kept us just in front.
That was until we reached the state line and alerts to us to seek shelter, and do it now. We raced mile by mile, just ahead of the front until we drove into a waiting garage, closed the door, went inside, and watched all hell break loose. It was magnificent.
Yeehaw, what a ride.
Sometimes we need to go a little extra, live a little more and make the world a better place. Sometimes we need to rave the storm. Will you?
So as the sun sets on another day, enjoy the night. Be stunning, be amazed. Make the world a play place, and live each day to make it the best. I know you can do it, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and don’t sweat the storms…
