The sun sets on another day…
The sky shimmered and seemed to shake with anticipation of upcoming delight. The sunset came, and it was applauded by the wind in the trees, and the leaves reached up trying to pull the last moments of life giving sun. It was near perfect.
I was sitting there looking at the sunset. The colors were everywhere and I could do nothing but enjoy the moment. Sometimes that’s all you can do. The sprays of color were everywhere, and as I enjoyed each shifting hue, I thought of how little I affected all that was going on.
Why did the chicken cross the road? Why not?
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
How can we make the sunset more beautiful? It is as beautiful as it needs to be.
Yes, it is a series of silly questions, but when you think about it, why don’t we just sit and enjoy things.
I take a lot of pictures, and have taken even more. As I look out across the world I often wonder how different life would be if I stopped worrying about being behind the camera and started just paying attention to the beauty all around me. I do have to admit I’m pretty good at that, but there are always further steps you can go. There are always higher mountains to climb. In the end, the world is full of beauty if we only pay attention.
So as the sun sets on another day, pay attention to the sprays of color and all around you. Enjoy the feeling that you have all the time. Be that person that finds beauty in everything, and remember that some of us will always find beauty in you. Life gets better as you pay attention. Keep paying attention, no matter what.
