The sun sets on another day…
I missed sunset in favor of another beauty. I watched my grandchildren play and got lost in the utter joy that they had going back and forth with the world. Somewhere outside the sky showed beauty, but I saw beauty everywhere tonight.
Let me tell you about my granddaughter. She has No Fear. Nothing can slow her down. She finds happiness in everything she does. She does nothing half way. Instead she is that child who finds an envelope and pushes it farther than it could have ever been done. She’s a search child that tries to make a difference within herself and pushes even harder if someone says she can’t.
Tonight at my grandsons birthday party I watched kids twice her age do less than she did and she became one of the few to ride the mechanical bucking shark. At two years old she held on tight and laughed until she was thrown then got up and wanted to do it again.
I say it often and I say it again, we need to push harder and be more. We need to stop being afraid. We need to make the world as she has made it. One challenge after another.
So as the sun sets on another day, seeing the world in the eyes of a child. Don’t be afraid, instead make the world yours every day then find the path to even more, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and ride’em Sharkey…
