The sun sets on another day…
It was another wonderful sunset that sparkled like a diamond in the sky. I wondered about tomorrow but I lived for today as the colors sprayed the horizon.
For some reason I’ve been lost in the movie Lost Horizon. It’s been playing on my head over and over and the song that continues to get stuck in my head is the world is a circle. For those of you that don’t know the song, the world is a circle without a beginning and nobody knows where it really ends. That is the telling verse to me, it says a lot even though it is a very short phrase.
If everyday is an unsurety and tomorrow is more than just another day but a gift to us that we should cherish as much as we do today then everything in Lost Horizon is true. The world is a circle and there is no true beginning and there is no true end just a series of circles going round and round over and over.
It is in here that my mind is stuck. It is in here that I am considering everything about the world. It is here that the world is a circle and it is here that we cannot guarantee tomorrow because we don’t know when tomorrow will end.
Sounds depressing doesn’t it. It’s not. You have today. You have right now this instant. You can make a difference, not only to the world but to yourself. Do what you can but live strong and live hard.
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s a strange movie and a strange book, but it has a good purpose and somewhere in the midst of it all we can all learn a little lesson that even immortality is something we should never take for granted. Enjoy your day and enjoy life everyday, no matter what.
