The sun sets on another day…
I looked out upon the sunset through the trees in the snow on the ice and realized I was cold. Still, the beauty before me pretty much made me smile and I laughed a little thinking about the sun bopping through the trees.
I started making calls today to several friends and touching base. I need to do that more often. Life has been interesting for the last year and as I navigate the world, I find often that I don’t hear from people unless I reach out. Of course, there are lots of ways to rationalize this and there are lots of things that may be bouncing around in everyone else’s mind and I honestly can’t say that I have walked a mile in their shoes nor have they walked a mile in mine.
Still, they are special.
With all the funerals and memorials and work and craziness I’m surprised I have time to breathe, but somewhere in between I find time to write, and I find time to be a little goofy. I’d like to think that’s OK and I’d like to think that my goofiness makes the world a little bit better place. At least it makes it more interesting.
Today’s message is easy. You matter. I don’t say it enough, but you matter. You are special. I’m not talking about me, I might be special, but you for sure are special. You have taken the time to be yourself and that is the most important thing that you can be. No one else defines you but you, and you matter.
That’s pretty much it. I hope you have a terrific day and remember that every day is special and so are you.
So as the sun sets on another day, I was freezing standing there looking at this picture, but it was worth it. Keep finding a way to be amazing every day, no matter what.
