The sun sets on another day…
It was a beautiful and amazing sunset and I could only stare at the sky in utter and complete captivation and what was going on around me. So many people miss the beauty around them but I didn’t tonight.
I was singing in public and someone walked up and started singing with me. I was singing This Little Light of Mine and suddenly I was in an acapella group and the harmonies were flowing. We finished the song and I laughed hard thinking about how a lot of people looked at us and I wondered if they felt like I did that the world is better without all the craziness. I wondered if their social conscience was something they didn’t have to worry about just like me.
Sometimes in order to light the way you have to be willing to strike a match. Sometimes in order to light the way, others may see you as different and you may be the focus of who knows what. In the song the singer avoids the candle being blown out and I think we should too. Instead we should shine our light brightly and be a positive force in the universe. It only makes sense.
Be that person that takes a moment to show the world a better light. Be that person who gives people the choice to light up their world with your amazement. Be that person who makes it different to everyone and maybe a little more. I think it’s worth it.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope your world is full of light and I hope you know that you are off in the light. You can make a difference and then doing so you can find the path with others lighting the world with your brightness, no matter what.
