The sun sets on another day…
I have no idea how this picture is going to turn out, but as a storm rolled in and streak lightning banish the darkness into the sky, to the West there was a shimmer of bread that was beyond belief. I tried to take a picture and I’m hopeful some of it came out. (no such luck)
The lightning is one thing, thunder another, and a whole lot of different moments make up things that we want to preserve in our mind but cannot preserve with other methods as easily.
If you go back a while you will find a picture I took of streak lightning. It took about an hour to get the shot because I wasn’t doing video and I was trying to take the picture just through time lapse and hoping that I would catch something. When I finally did I was elated, but it’s rare to be able to catch some of the most fantastic moments in a brief snap for a quick listen.
We see pictures every once in awhile we’re a photographer has waited for months and finally got a picture of a Pelicans stealing from an eagle, or that moment when a bear grabs a salmon in one swoop in the water. All of these things happen, and usually we can see them if we’re close but it’s hard to capture them.
It’s best that we preserve these moments inside ourselves. If we only take a few minutes and hold on tight we can understand just how important these little memories are. Everything from the laughter of a child to a first kiss could be something we didn’t capture in any other way then our magnificent memories.
That’s not a bad thing.
Are there memories that you hold on to? Are there things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Do these things make the world a better place?
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s a good day. It’s a good day because I saw a shimmer of red in the horizon while the storm raged around me. It’s a good day because I made it a good day. Find your best day and hold on to it in your mind, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and wow…
