The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was fantastic and as we sat and watched it was apparent that the beauty surrounded us all. I took many pictures and just enjoy it myself as night slowly closed in.
I sat and watched a person today that looked like the weight of the world was upon them. As I passed them I said hello and they looked at me and looked away as though tiny knives were being shoved in their back and it took everything they had to do anything in this world. It was all so serious. It was all over the top.
I walked away and smiled for a moment knowing that each issue we think is so serious and so earth shattering isn’t quite as bad as we think it is. Tomorrow there’ll be 10 more problems and eleven of them will be solved. This whole line of thinking reminded me of a joke which I just modified for this post.
You own yourself and all the good and bad in your life. On the first day of the week you get 10 problems, on the second day you get 15 problems but solve 18. On the third day you get 10 problems and solve 15. On the 4th day you get 25 problems and solve 5. On the 5th day you get 10 problems and solve 22. On the 6th day there are 12 more problems and 18 are solved. Whose problems are they? If you ask this in a conversation often people forget that the problems are theirs or in the case of the original joke that they are the bus driver. The truth is are any of the problems that overwhelming? I ask myself that every day and every day the problems are less important, only that they get solved.
How do you handle the seriousness of the world? Do you wear a grim visage that shows everyone how terrible your life is or at least how terrible you think your life is? Do you find a way to overcome? Do you find a way to be more and do more? All good questions.
So as the sun sets on another day, I reset my problems daily. I find a way to overcome the little things quickly and faced the big things as I can. After all, the world is full of amazement and all I want to do is keep being positive and finding a way to add a little bit of levity to the world. I hope you can do the same and in doing so get a few people to smile every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and what is that rumbling…
