The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was stunning but closed in upon the world rapidly as clouds gathered and a storm brewed. I sat and watched as day became twilight, then night strode in.
The word rise has a variety of different ideas behind it. At its core rise is very simple. Simply to expand. To go higher, to lift up, and a host of other cool ideas that align us all and make us think about everything from bread to religion.
There’s also the idea of rising to the occasion. We rise to an occasion when we lift ourselves up then go further than we have been before. We rise to an occasion when we want to make a difference and when we want to change the world, maybe more than a little. Sometimes we rise to the occasion when no one else will, and sometimes it’s just a little different than that.
For me, I would like to think we rise to the occasion of being better than we were and of finding a way better than before. I would like to think we rise to the occasion of standing up for ourselves and for people who need us. I would like to think we rise because of justice or injustice and in doing so we create a world that is perhaps a little better.
How about you? Do you rise or do you fall? Isn’t it time to rise? Isn’t it time to make a difference and not let life pass you by?
So as the sun sets on another day, I think I will rise and shine then rise to an occasion then make some bread and make it rise, then rise in an elevator, then rise up and make a difference. Doesn’t matter who’s difference as long as it’s on the side that I believe in. Let’s rise and stand in our seats and make a difference in life every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, loved life, and rise to the music…
