The sun sets on another day…
There was a sprinkle of light and sun in the air as another day wanted forward, and I could do nothing but enjoy it. Sunset smiled upon us all, and the world was awash with light, then darkness came.
Disney as a whole has become very unpredictable. I had no idea what to expect from another version of A Christmas Carol that was more modernized. I love guy Pierce in many of the movies he was in or loved to hate him in some of them. The movie Lockout was a new bit of fun for me when it came out and his version of The Time Machine made me enjoy everything about the book and the movie all again. A brief funny story, when I traveled all over the world that movie was on my laptop always as a reminder of those two magic words that so many people forget so often, “What If”.
This version of A Christmas Carol was far darker and far more brutal. From the very start with someone urinating on a grave and the corpse below wiping their face because of it to the brutality and utter inhumanity of Scrooge and Marley in the world that was only poorly defined in most other versions of the immortal story. Although some things were definitely not accurate for the time I found myself heavily moved and rather than spoil this I strongly suggest that you watch this version of A Christmas Carol very carefully and as you do realize that we are not looking for redemption, we are not looking for forgiveness, we are looking for a change and that change will redefine not only us but the rest of the world.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you have a good Christmas, it is coming up fast and we can do nothing but enjoy it and in the process find our way to live Christmas not just one day a year but the spirit of Christmas every day of the year. I know you can do it no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and watch out for the horses…
