The sun sets on another day…
There was a haze across the sky but it didn’t stop the colors shining through. Everything from oranges to Reds shot across the hazy clouds and in the end there was a fiery beauty that few people see. I got a kick out of it.
I was driving today on a pseudo scavenger hunt looking for something that everyone said was in stock but no one actually had and bouncing from place to place across the horizon. As I did so I found myself looking at the skyline and paying attention tell all the things going on around me.
I am trying desperately to use technology less and less. That’s kind of weird since I’m considered an expert in technology. Still, I have to use technology a lot and under a normal day 8 to 13 hours is filled with me staring at some type of screen trying to come up with solutions for a better tomorrow. Sometimes I have momentum, sometimes I don’t. Always I find technology to be amazing.
As I was driving, I looked to the side of the car and there was an eagle pacing me at a considerable speed. It was only for a few seconds but my speed in the truck had nothing on him, and after a few seconds he suddenly dropped to the ground at a ridiculous speed. I giggled and laughed.
There’s something really cool about seeing nature around this and I wondered how many of the drivers around me saw that eagle and realized that after all that man had done, he was doing things just as fast and doing it without machine.
My point today? It’s actually pretty easy. You are special. Your post is not. Your social media presence is not. All of the things that most people throw out there and say this is the way it should be, nope. You are what is special. Because you are special all you need to do is define yourself, and nothing more. You are the beginning of your own self and nothing else can define you. I hope that you listen.
So as the sun sets on another day, thanks for being special. Thanks for making the world amazing every day. Mostly, thank you for being you in a world where so many people try to be someone else. Remember that you are special, each and every day, no matter what.
