The sun sets on another day…
You know, we dance for a lot of reasons. Some are good, some not so good. Some inspire us, some cause us to perspire, and in the end, dancing adds fun to everything, well, if you enjoy dancing that is. forced ice dancing, where you have no dance to look like a complete buffoon, or fall on your bottom, is something else entirely. Today as the sun set on the western shore of Michigan saw forced ice dancing, and a few sore bottoms.
It always amazes me when people avoid doing something that might be fun. they find a way to pass it up, but don’t realize that they could have been having fun doing it. Dancing is one, and I understand there are lots of people who don’t know how to dance, or dislike dancing, but if you like it, why avoid it? Sometime though people avoid things just to not try it. It is like when my kids were young and I would ask them if they had something like Brussels sprouts before, they would say “I don’t like them, I tried them at Mom’s” and I am sure it went the opposite as well. Sometimes we avoid things for the sake of avoiding. When they finally did try it, they ate it a lot, or rode the roller coaster, or did the swings or whatever we faced, but it was rare when it was actually tried to find something that was terrible.
It is often the same way with older people. So set in their daily routine that doing something new is horrid, or horrible, or no fun, when they have no concept of what it really is. Dancing is one of those, but there are so many more. The point is, try it once for real to find out if you like ti, then go on if you don’t, but at least you can say you tried.
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment and add something to your bucket list, add something you have not done before, and make it happen, and if you get a moment, laugh, love, sing and dance, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, stay warm, and enjoy hot chocolate, it is yummy…
