The sun sets on another day…
It was a long day. This moment I sat down and began to write, at the edge of a new day, pushing to keep my personal promise, to write every day. Between multiple responsibilities I had driven to the corner. there I watched a brilliant sunset but it was not the only amazing view. The wind, whipping through the grass was pulling snow across the area, and instead of air, the day was like a crystal wind, lost in the edge of a sunset.
Sometimes in life we go looking for a certain outcome, and in the process find another outcome. It can be complicated as we can choose to see the new vision, or overlook it in favor of our quest to find our original vision. Personally I think we should keep our eyes open for everything and be aware of every moment.
You may ask why, you may not, but I will say from my point of view, every moment is a chance for an adventure and every overlooked adventure is a potential moment missed. Funny statement huh? A moment missed may not mean much, but it may mean everything. This of it. You have no idea a kiss will be your last, and then it is gone. You have no idea a child will grow up so fast, then they are an adult and moving far away. You just don’t have any idea what will happen next. I have had friends I thought would be forever simply disappear, and some die with me wondering why I did not take that extra moment and seize time with them.
I was reminded of this recently from several points of view, and am working to correct an oversight, no one is perfect, certainly not me.
So as the sun sets on another day when you go looking for a rainbow and the sunset is there, embrace it. When you go looking for the sunset and a crystal wind is there, embrace that too. Don’t miss out on anything that could be wonderful, and don’t leave behind something wonderful for anything. I know that sounds like a tough task, but we can do it if we try. Hold on to your moment and believe in it, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and laugh a lot…
