The sun sets on another day…
I was sitting today looking at the sky out the back window. Clouds were slipping across my line of sight and occasionally the sun would pop out. It was early, so the beams shone down and lit up the ground over and over, and I smiled as I saw little beams of light hit tree, sand, and wet leaves. I could have taken a picture, but I was mesmerized by the nearly rhythmic movement of the sky. It ebbed and flowed, and I slowly slipped off to a short nap.
It is not often I can nap in the day, and when I woke I felt a little better about the world, and though the clouds were now thick and the day ending I was amazed at the flow of it all.
We take for granted that the world is full of current. Current in what we see around us, in the waves, the rivers, the clouds, the air and even in what we do every day. Even as our heart beats we feel a certain flow in ourselves, and it all just keeps going. Do you feel it? Do you see it?
It is my opinion that people who take the time to see that become far more ingrained in the world, and are a little more at peace. Many people call it one thing or another, but if you are aware of all the things going on around you I would like to think you are a little more in touch with the world, a little more aware of all that is going on around you.
I have mentioned a book called Shibumi I read a long time ago, in this book the definition of Shibumi is effortless perfection or a flow that is there not because you think about it, but because it is just there. Today, and several days of my life I felt that if only for a moment, and it is that moment that gives me pause. Take a moment and stop pushing the world, just a moment, pay attention to all that is around you, and find that peace. I believe it is there in just about anything, waiting to be found.
So as the sun sets on another day, take a few minutes and let go, stop trying to make the world into a complicated mess, instead see the world as it is, look for the patterns that are already there, and find a little peace in the moment. It is there if you don’t look and instead just see it. Find a moments peace, and enjoy your night, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and relax a little…
