The sun sets on another day…
“Aha!,” he said with much excitement and exhilaration. The day was afoot, not the game, the day. there were moments everywhere to be explored and experienced and his heart beat with a power of its own, well, because that is what hearts do.
I got ice cream today. As I sat waiting for my strange flurry of Butterfinger and Cheesecake I noticed the girls fingers were splinted. I asked what happened and got a treatise on dirt bikes and how not to fall. In the end we compared a finger and I told her it heals. Her only concern was if she would be able to ride after it heals and I stated without much medical information on my side at that moment that it was a most likely yes. She said it was good because she had a lot of riding to do in her future. She loved the thrill of riding dirt bikes, and loved the thrill of riding in general.
As I drove off I realized she was more than right, she was on target, quite literally, with how a life should be. Life should be about thrills. Not roller coasters and craziness but more, thrills to the heart, the soul, the mind. Real thrills. The thrills that don’t last a few minutes and fade, but the thrills that last a lifetime and more.
sure, this is just another 29000 sunset post where some guy says how great we can be if we want to. Maybe. this one, however, is far more. This is where you focus on you, and take things to the next level. Where you realize that there are things that thrill you more than a little, perhaps more than a lot. Maybe those thrills are what we should be looking at. Maybe putting your heart out yet again is not a risk, but a way to feel your heart race when you touch someones hand. Maybe starting something new is a risk, or maybe the thrill of victory or defeat will take you to a new level and show you where you need to go. The list goes on, and the thrills are real, all we have to do is open ourselves to the possibilities.
Yes, sure, this is just another 29000 sunset post. I am pretty sure, however, that a thrill a day, well, it will make the world a better place.
So as the sun sets on another day, take the plunge, kiss the girl or guy, take a change, dream a dream, but make today a thrill you will never forget, no matter what.
