The sun sets on another day…
I had a lot of time to think last night. I was up for a long long time, sleeping in little catnaps, and laughing in between at relatively dumb television and the masses of infomercials that assail our senses at 3 and 4 in the morning. It was funny to me as I watched some of the items how incredibly excited people got for incredibly not so exciting items. I was surprised at the air fryers, laughed at the knives, the electronics were not that exciting, the vacuums almost sucked, and a series of other items don’t even deserve attention. At this point if you are ever up as late as I am you are nodding your head. Everyone was so excited, excited about their little slice of the world.
As I watched I was fascinated, and started seeing me. When I talk to people about my books I am exuberant and excited, and as I speak to the person I am almost as bad as the people selling Shark Liftaways, I believe in myself, and I believe in all the people that have read my books, and how the have enjoyed them, laughed about them, and been a part of them each day. I smiled last night as these thoughts crossed my mind. Maybe there was something to each of these products, or maybe not. After all, the person speaking on the television believed, why couldn’t I? After all, I still have my Ginsu knife, from he 80s, and I use it a lot still. Maybe, just maybe, everyone has a point or belief that might just work. In the twinkle of an eye I might be sold!
I watched for a few minutes and came to the inevitable conclusion “Naaah”, but still enjoyed the moments. Why Naaah? Well, my books are not for everyone, and I don’t think any book is, but I can tell you in the end, that if I find people that fit, well, I am sure they will like them. I just have to find the right fit.
So as the sun sets on another day, don’t stay up all night, but if you do, watch a little shopping infomercial TV, and see if you are a fit. You might be the next buyer of a green knife, or a super vacuum, or you might not, but you will have fun watching, and that is half the fun. Meanwhile, I will talk about my books, sell a few more, and laugh all the time, just because. Laugh with me and find a way to happiness, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, laugh, and giggle a little too…
