The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was spectacular as the bank of clouds ended at the horizon. The crimson and gold shone brightly across the horizon and the day was ended on a good note.
Sometimes a moment is really worth it. Today it was a bowl of soup. We stopped in Indiana on a long drive and I had Max and Erma’s tortilla soup for the first time in years. The taste was amazing and it reminded me of so many years past, and so many happy moments. For a few minutes the flavor of the soup and of the past was worth savoring, and it was a peaceful crazy day.
Sometimes we just need a hook to hold onto that will take us to our happy place. I hope it doesn’t have slot machines and tricycles, but it seems to usually have good food, good fun, and good friends. Thanks for a great year everyone, this has been one for the books. It has been a long day with a long drive, but it was worth it. Take your time tonight, and enjoy a little soup if you can.
