The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was openly cloudy and there were no meatballs in sight.
I wrote about The Last Walk a few months ago after I was devastated by a loss. Many would not understand, but an animal loss can be pretty hard.
George Carlin said, “Life is a Series of Dogs,” and when he did, I laughed. It is true. However that life can be a series of dogs for those people who have that level of patience to understand and adapt to animals. A few months ago, I took the last walk with the trash bin for the 550 steps to my roadside. I didn’t know it would be the last.
Now here I am again with the first walk out as a team, off leash, to get the garbage. I was overcome as little pepper stayed with me the whole way, and watched me to make sure I was doing it right.
There are lots of cycles in our world. Sometimes it is the amazement of just being part of a team. Find that person or animal to make your team, and start enjoying the moments you have each and every day. There is no more fantastic feeling than knowing you are part of something special.
So as the sun sets on another day, I have gone from the Last Walk to a new walk. Find your place, find that thing that makes you the best version of yourself, and be amazing every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and live strong…
