The sun sets on another day…
What a wonderful day, and a more wonderful sunset, each and every day is worth appreciating, and so are you.
In my somewhat always Christmas mind I was talking to a group today about putting one foot in front of the other and my odd brain went sideways. It reminded me of the “Santa Claus is coming to town” stop motion movie where the wizard has to put one floor in front of the other to soon be walking out the door. We often are so focused on walking that we don’t see the door, or so focused on the door we don’t walk too well. He made it out the door but had help every step of the way. We don’t always have that help so we walk ourselves. Scary huh? Do we risk falling and watch the door (The dreaded look at the prize mentality) or do we look at walking only to realize we just walked into a wall. (Which can be hard on ones nose)
The answer, in my opinion, is yes. To walk through the door we need to be focused on the myriad of tasks necessary to walk across the door AND we need to keep focus on the door, both so we see the goal, and so someone doesn’t build a brick wall in front of us while we shuffle across our path. Without a goal we can easily go in circles, and without a movement towards the goal, we see it as an impossibility.
One more thing, remember once you get to the door, there is another door down there, or at least make one so you keep moving forward.
So as the sun sets on another day, appreciate the journey and the destination, and wall until you pass through the door, no matter what…
Sleep sweet, love someone, and be loved, always…
