The sun sets on another day…
…and a few minutes after sunset the parade started in Manistee. It was a cloudy day but hearts were full and people amazed as the Sleighbell Parade Kicked off in downtown Manistee Michigan. I enjoyed the moments, the people, and was anxious for the parade.
I have been to several of these parades in Manistee. They have always been stunning, well-choreographed, and full of life. Tonight’s parade was stunning but somewhere in the mix of it all the choreography was a little off. Still there was a lot of life and perhaps that is all that’s important.
Parades are a lot of fun and I was in one last week. In that parade there were people moving us along and keeping us in check all the time. Being myself, I have a tendency to wander, and I appreciated the fact that the entire series was working in good fashion and not making the already cold viewers sit and wait well new floats and new groups came forward. My only negative for today was that sometimes there were long pauses, and no one was keeping people moving in a timely manner.
Still, I loved the horses and all of the unique costumes and hope they keep the Victorian motif going for a long time. This parade shows just how wonderful a community can be and, in the process, binds people together in a heartfelt and amazing way. Below are some pictures from this event.
So as the sun sets on another day, all I can say is that parades and people can make any day complete. Enjoy the moment but have you seeing the world as a group of positive people pushing towards a common wonderful goal. After all, Setting up a big giant Christmas tree it’s pretty darn fun. Enjoy your day just as I did, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and big horsies…
