The sun sets on another day…
It was a good and fantastic sunset filled with colors and fascination. As I look upon the horizon I can do nothing but be amazed at the lovely lithograph unfolding in front of me. It is always really nice.
We try to play trivia on Tuesdays. Tonight one of the rounds of trivia was all different types of pasta. As we filled out the different types I thought about the past for just a moment and the obstacles that we overcome to be amazing people.
When I was a kid the most fantastic type of pasta that we ever had was macaroni, we found our macaroni in the gourmet dinner of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I never realized I was poor until I got older and found that Kraft Macaroni and Cheese was pretty much bottom of the barrel. That didn’t change the fact that I liked it. Instead Kraft Macaroni and Cheese was a staple that fed my little sister and I easily.
Fast forward a lot of years and we have just about every type of pasta available in the same vein as macaroni and cheese was presented. Some children will never know the joy of having Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and instead will only have Velveeta Shells and Cheese or one of dozens of other choices. Wow that’s amazing.
I know this entire post is ridiculous in some ways but all I’m saying is at the time I had Kraft Macaroni and Cheese I thought it was magical and mystical. Now children ignore something as fantastic as Velveeta Shells and Cheese or even more elaborate dishes. As they do I think they get a little lost and perhaps don’t pay attention to how amazing it is to be able to choose their food. It’s kind of cool.
Maybe we just need to take a step back for a minute or two. As we do so, maybe we should enjoy all our moments and make our world one where macaroni can be mostaciolli which is also lasagna which is also fettuccine which is also just a fantastic tasting noodle. I think I’m good with that and I’m thinking that pasta is pretty okay sometimes.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s enjoy the moments and make the world a better place one new at a time. I think we can do that mostly I think that it’s great to enjoy your food whatever it may be. Have some macaroni and cheese and have an amazing night, no matter what.
