One day…

The sun sets on another day…

We sit here one day before Christmas, and inportant day for many, and a more important day for some.

Let’s take a stab at an old poem:

Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse..stirred…

Ooops, maybe not. sometimes we get so tied up in what we think we should do, that we lose what we really should do. I should rewrite this poem and be a bit creative, and try to spin how we should pay attention to light, and life and stop wasting our days wallowing in self inflicted misery, but perhaps I need to just say that. So let’s try something a little more pointed. Steve Jobs once said:

“When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, some day you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “no” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. ~Stanford University, 2005″

You know, if everyone looked at the world like that, we would all be in a better place. Happiness would be a goal instead of a vacation. Life would be worth living, a job would be the place you liked to go, or it would change, and the person you were with would step up, or step out, or be stepped out. We have become a society that feeds on fear and guilt in many ways, and this simple quote, that was not by Steve Jobs, but used by him to succeed, would give us all a chance to succeed.

So on this wonderful Christmas eve, enjoy your family, enjoy life, and look at the way to happiness, as if it were your very last day. Live hard, work hard, and love to the moon and back, and even the stars beyond.
