Tomorrow the sun will rise…

I missed the part where the sun sets and does not come up, the world is horrible, and people are always just plain bad. Honestly, the  number of people in the world that worry about “stuff” is staggering. Worse, the number of people who try to bring down those of us that are looking for positives and that inner power that they have a hard time feeling is staggering as well (Good word staggering). Those people try to hide the sun, make the world horrible, and try to make people feel bad or just be bad.

There is hope, and it is in every one of us. No, it does not involve you wearing a billboard and telling people your way is the right way, nor does it involve preaching from a pulpit and making people see your point even if you have to hammer it into them, it doesn’t even require wearing a tutu across town. (Would look bad with my legs anyway). Instead it is very straight forward, maybe even easy: Show people you can be happy no matter what, and if you can, try to spread it.

Now this may seem like a silly task, “happy” you say, “How can I be happy”. That too is easy, you have to decide to be happy. You have to let go a little, laugh a little, and stop letting other people decide who you are in the world. Sure, there will be those that try to bring you down, don’t let them, instead push forward.

I knew a beautiful woman once. She was amazing in many ways, graceful, articulate and really full of life. Her eyes sparkled when she talked, until she started talking. At that point it became obvious that the world did not treat her well, in fact the world  was against her, all the time. She had a beautiful home, a wonderful family, but there was always something wrong. I talked to her from time to time and tried to bring her up and in doing so made a little bit of a difference, if even for a while.

My point is, if we all took a moment and let stuff go, and took a moment to make one persons’s day better, the world might be a better place. Imagine the infectious nature of happiness when the world worked it that way.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am not one to always turn the other cheek, or take “stuff” forever, but that discussion is for another day.

So, as the sun sets on another day take a moment and remember, the sun will set tonight and even if you cannot see it, it will rain its beauty upon us, tomorrow the sun will rise and no one can stop it, the world is an amazing adventure every day as long as you live it, and people can be the best thing in your world, if you let them and they let themselves.

So love life, enjoy every moment, and hold on to the sunsets, to the moon and back…
