The sun sets on another day…
We have all heard many times how still waters run deep, and turbulent waters as shallow, things are as clear as mud, and some water is not fit to drink. We even know you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it serve alcohol at a bar, or something like that. My point is you sometimes have to go beneath the surface to get to the truth. (and find a horse that serves alcohol if you like that stuff)
To us the setting sun seems like a ball of light but if we really saw it, it is a serious bunch of multiplied to the nth degree actions and interactions that we doubtfully could comprehend. That being said, most people are the same. Never assume you know what is going on beneath the surface until all the cards are on the table and you can be sure. Sometimes the boisterous insulting little people are so self conscious that they likely should fade into a hole if they are confronted. Similarly the quiet easy going ones can be a seething force of nature under the hood.
Take your time, get to know people, don’t burn bridges and instead listen. If they are out of line, sidestep and move on and remember that: “sticks and stones can break your bones, aimed with angry art. Words can sting like anything, but silence breaks the heart.”
So as the sun sets upon another day, get to know people, and know them well like you know yourself, and if you don’t know yourself, look in the mirror, introduce yourself, and enjoy the time you have with yourself. It too is good.
