Who holds your heart…

The sun sets on another day…

A great deal of accomplishments today lead me to a little time to watch and take pictures of a still and amazing sunset. As I watched the sun setting in the west a woman walked up and watched with me (Actually 2, but one was taking pictures as well, we tend to pack up as the sun sets and ended up with about 6 people). So anyway this woman had a heart locket on her neck and we began talking about it.

She told me that it was old and she had it for a long time. and that a friends mother always grabbed it and held on to it whenever she saw her and told her “I have your heart”. As we watched the sun set and enjoyed the moment I considered all the days that we should wonder who holds our heart, and conversely whose heart(s) we hold.

In truth, a heart is a fragile thing, and too often we forget how precious it is as we hold and protect someones heart. Perhaps we should consider the awesome responsibility it is to hold a heart, and vice versa. The days are too short to do otherwise.

So as the sun sets on another day, hold on carefully to the hearts you protect, never betray them, and pray each day that you are treated the same, with the respect you deserve and given a heart that is true.

Sleep sweet, love life, and love, just love…
