Mortality…

The sun sets on another day…

The sun is forever, or at least as far as we are concerned. It was here far before us, and will be here far after we are gone. This is true of many things, but we, and the plethora of life on earth, are merely mortal.

The easiest thing to say at this point is, “ouch, that is awful”, or “that sucks” or “Aren’t you a ray of sunshine tonight”.

Well, I am getting there. The first step to making a good life, well, in my opinion, is to realize you are mortal. Yeah yeah, no fun, we are not supermen, we do not live the life of a tree, nor are we capable of leaping tall buildings in fire engine red underwear, but we are capable of having a good life. So the question is, what did you do to have a good life? The bigger question is what did you do to have a good life, today

We look at each day as a chance to save money, work ourselves to the bone, and make good choices, but did anyone think to make fun choices? How about passionate choices? Real choices? If not, why not? If not, when?

If we can accept the premise that we are mortal, there is no time like today and instead of living for the year, or worse, retirement (boy that should be a bad word) we should be living for each moment we can. Remember, there is an adventure in every moment if you look for it, a piece of excitement in every day, and a powerful lesson in the depths of a fortune cookie. (Well, it sounded good)

So as the sun sets on another day, did you write today? Laugh today? Run today? Build today? or one of a thousand other pastimes that need to be done in your life. Only you can decide your passions, but only you can take them from dreams into reality. Find the little white house that you always wanted, and make it yours. Find the moment you wanted to make last forever, and make it last forever. Make the world a better place, because you are in it and love until the moment life ends, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and love life a little more, you won’t regret it…
