The sun sets on another day…
This evening the skies were dark, foreboding and the air crisp. The cool air grabbed at those who dared go outside, and seemed to rip and rend at the skin of any who had the courage to venture out. Another Halloween, come and come again. Each year a little different from the year before, each night unique in its own way.
It is not surprise there are two holidays I love. Christmas of course (I sing carols all year round) and Halloween. When I was a kid I was often stuck at home giving out candy because no one else was there to do it. My Halloween runs were late and often very fulfilling as people dumped bags of candy in my simple pillow case just to get rid of it. More than anything I loved watching scary movies and listening to radio shows on Halloween, why, because I loved the thrill of the thrill.
So this Halloween let’s take a shot at fear with 3 stories I wrote, made for the season:
- Alone and Afraid – Where technology has different ideas for a girl and her cat.
- Weeds – Where our hero is a fun loving country boy with dreams of the stars.
- Protect his heart – A popular story that I wrote for last Halloween that explores the joy of bar dating.
So as the sun sets on another day hope you can take a second an enjoy one or two, and have some fun with a little suspense, or laugh because I couldn’t get your blood rolling even a little bit. I don’t mind. As this October comes to an end, my biggest hope is that you have fun all the time, and on this day have a little more fun, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love to the moon and back, and reach for the stars beyond…
