Flashlights and breadcrumbs…

The sun sets on another day…

Why did the turkey cross the road…err, wrong question. w

Funny how the sunset always shows you a direction, and the sunrise shows you another direction, equal yet opposite. If you watch them you will always know where you are, or at least which direction you are going.

For some reason I have a lot of flashlights. They range from the little to the giant, and all are usually charged and ready to go. It is nice to be able to see where you are going.

You know in life, we have flashlights all around us. There are constantly people and other things pointing us in the right direction if we just let them. The light may shine to people, or places, or groups or a dozen other things that will help us find our way, but there is no real magic flashlight that will make the future show up. Nor is it worth it going backwards on some mystical breadcrumbs you may have left for to tell you how your past was, after all, you have already been there. Instead, we need to keep our eyes open and live in the now. Planning too far ahead loses where we are, just like looking to far back loses where we’ve been. Instead, we need to be our light, and pay attention to those things around us that may help us into a better future. It is just the way that it is.

So as the sun sets on another day, pay attention to the lit paths showing you a way, and in the process, find a few minutes to see the steps you making now. They may be right, they may be wrong, who knows. They are, however, your steps. Make every moment count and make this day the best it can be, without a flashlight.

Sleep sweet, love life, and splash in the water when you can…
