Friends…

The sun sets on another day…

I was wandering around in a virtual sky, thinking about the sunset and about how many things were weighing on me, then I considered for a moment all the things that weren’t. It is a huge contract thinking about such while you are looking at a small screen, trying to enjoy the sunset.

As I did so this fine eve I counted my blessings for some good friends. I have had a lot of friends. Many have come and gone. Some drifted and we were close once, then seemed to slide into the past. Some are still friends, but we do not talk as often, when we do the floodgates open and suddenly the world is right. Some stay close, they are always on my mind, talking or not, and can call anytime and I would do anything for them. Some were not as real as I thought, making promises of being friends “no matter what” only to fade away or much much worse. So it goes, friends who owe money who disappear, friends who found love, and disappeared. Friends that came back and talk often, and friends that say nothing yet speak volumes.

It is the last and combinations of others that become those friends you can always count on. The friends that tell you the truth in the face of everything else in the world. That understand when you are busy, and you understand when they are busy. Those are the friends that you can talk to for hours and never grow tired, or sit in silence watching he sunset, and unlock the secrets of the universe.

So as the sun sets on this great day, think about your friends, feel them. Don’t take them for granted, be there when they need you and help them be more, and be where you need to be, so that one day they will know (If they don’t know now) that you will be there, every day, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live it…
