Why miss another?

Practicing passions…

The sun sets on another day…

Sunset. It is one of my passions, and taking pictures of the sunset give me a moments pause each and every day.

I have been writing for 15 days about a list posted by a fiend of “Rules” for their daughter. There are some I agree with, some I have modified a little to fit daughter and son, and some, well, some are good to discuss. As we walk into almost 1100 written items, and about 1050 posted items I know what it is like to want to give some guidance for my children, and thoughts for anyone to consider. I do not profess to be right or wrong, I just hope my writing let’s someone think about something new, something different, or something more.

Tonight’s thought is: “Practice your passions.”

I have been told by many I have far too many passions. Some are simply, and some are quite complex. To list them all would take thousands of words and I am in the process of trying to downsize those passion and in the process downsize the number of “things” I have around. I can say, practicing your passions makes you good at whatever they are. I spend a lot of time taking pictures, and as much time writing. Those things are obvious passions. I find that the more I practice, the better I get and the better I feel about those passions each and every day. There can be no end to the level of items that I am interested in, but there are a finite number of hours in a day, of days in a year, of years in a life so it is important to look at your passions and be the best you can be, but not over everything.

I have talked to a lot of people who have only a few passions and that is where to be. Focused on one or two things that make yo better, and more complete. Focused on the moments, and focused on being the best you can be at whatever passion you have. Never go half way, never be in the middle, instead press the envelope and know more, do more and be more.

When I was young I had many passions as well. I loved weather, dinosaurs, whales, then books, and more books. Each of those things I was passionate baout I did as much as I could until I was absorbed by that so much that everyone could now how special it was to me. What is your passion? Is it quiet and alone with you, or do you press the envelope every day to make your passion known as “your passion” and let people know how special it is to you. Be the best, and then be even better. Practice makes perfect, but it is not a destination, it is a journey for all time to live your passion, it does not end, it only finds a newer higher level to achieve. Find your way there, and to the passion beyond.

So as the sun sets on another day, this is probably too much information, but you, yes you, can practice your passion until it is even more, and find your way to be happy, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and be amazing every day…
