The sun sets on another day…
The day was beautiful, starting cool and wet and ending on a high note. How can we pass up a day that has sun and rain in it? Of course, this meant it was Frisbee day with the pup!
I have been wandering around a list of words I read on a friends post. I am working through them and modifying them one at a time, or agreeing who heartedly. At the end I will re-post the list as it stands not just for daughters, but for everyone. Today’s message is: “Say Please, Thank You, and Pardon Me, whenever the situation warrants it.”
I got a little sideways here, as my Grandparents spent a lot of time with me teaching manners, and it does not just lie with please , thank you, and pardon me. We should all be polite at all times unless it is time not to be polite. Even then, we should still be polite. Manners are not something that you can just turn on and off, they have to be a part of our life at all times. There is a lot to it, and in spite of some common misconceptions it is never wrong to be polite.
So sure, say please and thank you, sure, say pardon me, but also understand basic and even advanced manners, open doors for people who need help, treat people with respect, act like the world is a worth being positive in, and learn a little about table manners, even if you eat on the couch every day. It is a great way to be, and people will see you are in earnest if they see you use good manners.
So, as the sun sets on another day, make this day and every day special, and find a way to be a person with manners, it will make your day easier, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and live it every day…
