The sun sets on another day…

It comes again. A brilliant orb crossing the sky, leaving behind a trail of wonder, the atmosphere dabbed by a majestic paintbrush, and the canvas below awash with even more magnificent colors. It comes again, and as it sets, we have the promise of even more tomorrow.

I am in awe. Tonight I watched the sunset through a small monitor, and still, I was in awe. Is there anything more powerful or more subtle than a sunset, I am sure a million things, but the sunset was impressive this eve, the sunset was all that and more.

I have been writing for the past many days on a list left on a friends wall. I have agreed and disagreed, and tonight, well, I agree with the thought. The message is: “Naps are for grown-ups, too.”

Suddenly may be upon you. That feeling of weariness that can only be described as, well, umm, weariness. There are so many feelings that are washed over us all at times, but weariness is one of the worst. There is a cure. It only takes a moment, or perhaps a few moments, and you reset. A nap can be an amazing doorway into a lot of things, and more refreshing than 8 hours of sleep if you only let it. There is something else about naps though. A short rest, laying in the breeze, with the air rushing across you can open a doorway to the mind, and let a dream out in just a few seconds, a portal to nowhere and everywhere.

Yes yes, it all sounds like a story we tell our kids to try to get them to take a nap, but think about how true it is, and consider the possibilities. Naps are the reset, not only for the body, but for the mind, and not for  just kids, or teens, but for everyone, adults included. When you need it, it will be there. Take it when you need it, and make your day a little better.

So, as the sun sets on another day, I hope I haven’t put you to sleep, or perhaps I hope I have put you to sleep. Perhaps that quick nap will make your day better, and perhaps, just perhaps, the world will be better though fresh eyes, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the moments…
