The sun sets on another day…
Sundays are fun sometimes because I can go out with a friend looking for new pictures. This can range from the middle of somewhere to the middle of nowhere and today the skies were blue, the water deep, and the truck noisy, but we went on an adventure. I had adventure in my brain from watching the movie “Up” earlier in the day.
The movie of course revolves around an older man who has lived his life with his adventurous wife (It is a Disney) and as they grew older, lost her. The key point comes when he realizes all the things he has mean nothing, and then he discards them all in favor of, well, you just have to see it for yourself.
I thought about this a lot as I drove today looking for a fun picture, and as I did I thought of all the people who build their lives to save, and never live their lives. Sure, we all need to have something, but I would rather have a book of adventures than an account of money, and a series of stories over a room full of goodies.
Now, don’t go calling your broker and screaming sell, instead, don’t put off those things that are fringe until “tomorrow” because it is a dice game every day to know if tomorrow will ever come. Having money in the bank is important, but being a miser and missing out on obvious good days in favor of money in the mattress, well, no so good. Balance.
So as the sun sets on another day, consider for a moment all the fun you could have with just a little time. Take that time, find a moment, and enjoy your life, more than a little, more than a lot. Have an adventure, and make your life that adventure, no matter what.
