The sun sets on another day…
Today I spent the day with a group of people in a common cause. They came from different walks of life, different races, different ken, different sexes, different beliefs and more. We were all united in one cause: to sell books.
There is a diversity in people that cannot easily be described. I have seen many people try, and many people talk about how people react as a whole, but the truth is there are many people you can count on in life. Skip those you can’t and focus on those you can. I have a good friend I know will always be there, and a lot of people that are close. Today as I talked with these people with common purpose I know I will see some of them from time to time and we again will be pressing forward positively. I am reasonably sure I will not be stabbed in the back with mindless insults or rhetoric, and very sure I will support each of them as I can, in deference to myself.
Isn’t that the way to be, support people without need of return but knowing the return will be there?
Sure. I have been friends with some who I later found were negative or spoke ill of me, but I move forward not backward. Sure there have been people that are not going to be there at all even when they say they will be, but I will overcome that every time.
Honestly we cannot worry so much about the past and our walls that were built to protect us from harm, it is just not worth it. Nor can we think of all the bad things that might happen and avoid the possibilities of the present, it just is not worth it to be so concerned. Instead, we have to live our life to the best of our ability knowing that there are some people we can count on for some things, and others we can count on for others. Fun huh?
So as the sun sets on another day, to my friends I can count on, you know who you are and thank you for being true and loyal. For the authors and readers who share my passion, let’s keep pressing forward and tell the stories we need to tell every day, and I thank you and appreciate who you are each day. To the world, well, howdy. We are out here, pressing and finding a way. We are passionate and powerful and live for the day, not lost in the past nor the future, but living our lives for now with respect to both past and future. We will keep pushing, no matter what.
