The sun sets on another day…
For the purposes of today’s post I will use the word miracle as defined as “a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences.”
I did not expect a great sunset tonight and, like a miracle, it surprised me. It was actually one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen, and I did not have a camera with me. Sometimes things happen that just are super improbable, and it leads to something good or great.
Take yesterday and today for example. The weather was supposed to be bad, actually horrible for a parade I was in. One newscast after another noted the time for rain, snow, or general ick would be right about parade time. Then, like a miracle this morning, the clouds stayed away, the skies were clear, the temperatures tolerable, and in the end, the parade was somewhere past awesome. I smiled even though no one could see my face, because my friends dream was a reality, and it was a good reality. While I was there, two disparate bands came together, played side by side, and I saw a group be formed that will do great things. Another miracle. Of course as I was running around like crazy in a dark suit where no one could see me, well, I saw kids and people smile, and that too is a miracle.
Maybe we just don’t take the time to see our miracles. Maybe we don’t realize they are there. Maybe when people enter our lives, it is super awesome for all of us and we should see the miracle in it, and when they leave, perhaps we should see the same. There is a miracle in just about everything, but some miracles, like today, are really great.
So as the sun sets on another day, was your day good? Did it go further, show you more? Did you notice? Take the moment to notice, be a part, and maybe you too will see mini miracles, and a few big ones!
Sleep sweet, smile bright, and be find happiness under every rock…
