The sun sets on another day…
A warm rain is far better than cold snow. Or is it? Perhaps today the warm rain that became the cool rain will be as icy as anything else we have faced with snow.
I was in a discussion today about how people generalize and how people apply words and phrases to large groups of people. I have been caught several times generalizing for far too large a group but I learn from that every time I do so. I say often, if you speak in absolutes, you should sell insurance.
In that vein, to put it simply you cannot say that all warm rain is better than snow nor can you say that all of a certain group of people react in a certain way. Instead we have to take each thing we face as we face it and determine the good or the bad or the indifferent based on the situation and based on what is being faced at that time.
I have said many times we are the sum of our experiences but I have also said that sometimes we should listen to others who have had larger groups of experience and learn from them. Simply, sometimes we need to listen more than we talk.
So as the sun sets on another day consider well all the things you say you never know if you are understanding the situation completely. Consider well when you are listening to someone that you may not have a similar experience. Consider well how today offers new possibilities and each day offers us oh the ability to grow. Grow as you can, learn even more, and listen to people no matter what.
