The sun sets on another day…
Outside the wind blows. It is not soft nor caressing, it is violent and ripping through the trees like a maelstrom. The trees bend but do not break, and each gust whistles in the woods like an unchained melody. As the sun sets it is unaffected by the wind, but watching the sunset is crisp and the brisk air is harsh and deafening.
We live in the present. Right now. The wind may whip us but we are here, willing to fight and push and make each day better. I know it can sometimes be hard, but as I looked at the trees bending I knew we should fight for today. Tomorrow and yesterday are on the table, but not as important as right now. Right now is what defines us, right now is what makes us whole. Right now we have the option of making today our day not because the wind is blowing, but in spite of it.
So as the sun sets on another day, be wary of the wind and watch the way it blows, be careful of the things that fall and get thrown to and fro. Be mindful of the moments and remember they are yours, and as the moments seem to pass, keep holding on to yours.
Sleep sweet, love life, and ride like the wind…
