The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was missing again. Well it wasn’t exactly missing it just wasn’t easily evident from where I was stuck on the ground. If I was a few 1000 feet in the Sky I’m sure it would have been intensely beautiful.
Have you ever felt a word? I know people that feel words when they’re reading books or stories. Everything from the silky smooth petals of a rose to the sickening crunch of something terrible happening. I would like to think that a lot of that is due to writers and their ability to impart into people but I also know that empathy plays a large role in it all and those that are very empathic are more prone to the words and the feelings that are put before them.
I find I have learned to turn it off and on . When I was younger I hung on every word and experienced everything as it was laid out before me. As I have gotten older I have found that there are places that I need to just turn off the empathic responses and instead just read for the sake of reading. I find this helps me see a bigger picture and later I maybe lost in the empathy but for now I just want to know.
How about you? When you read do you feel everything going on around you or are you just reading and getting the knowledge without necessarily the feelings and emotions attached to it? Think about it, it might be fun.
So as the sun sets on another day words are amazing and our ability to communicate gives us an immense advantage in the world. Leaving our words for the future gives us a little more. Take a moment and feel the words that you’re reading and realize you’re part of something very special each and every day.
Sleep sweet, love life, and feel…
