The sun sets on another day…
I was told the sunset tonight will be stunning, instead more clouds rolled in, and then the storm. I stared at the sky with wistful eyes, enjoying what I could.
Wistful is a cool word. It is also a cool feeling. It is not really negative, nor is it positive. It is somewhere in between. There are a lot of reasons to feel wistful in the world, and a lot that I feel sometimes but I simply turn the corner. Well, for me it is simple. It depends on who you are inside.
In my opinion every moment is a choice. We can decide how positive or negative to be based on how we perceive the world, knowing that our world is painted by our past. Every day we can embrace the positives we can see or the negatives we surmise and make them our focus. In spite of our bias, we can overcome what we feel, and feel better.
Yes, sometimes things are near hopeless. There is still a positive path, even in darkness if you can only find it.
So as the sun sets on another day, I was wistful for a moment, then thankful for the few minutes of sun we had. I find myself each day thinking about the good we can experience, and the good we can do, if we only try. That is another definition, another path, and another post. Find your way to something better each day, and make today more that a good day, no matter what.
