The sun sets on another day…
Tonight was wonderfully…hot. Waves of heat flew across the day and made each moment a challenge and more, not because it was hot but because the humidity was so high I swam from place to place.
Each night as I write I pretty much feel like the terminator. A slew of items cross my screen and probabilities fly up and down until I settle on the topic for the day. There are many. Right now I have started writing several I have set aside. Set aside topics focus too much on negativity or create conflict, and those are discarded. Some will end up on one of my other sites, some will not. In the end it will all work out.
As I sat today listening to people in a heated Disney Trivia game at a local restaurant I heard someone talking about how bad their life was. It was a short conversation but in the span of 2 minutes I got to hear all about a series of events that were less than perfect. It was over in a moment and then that person was laughing til they cried at the fun questions and antics of the host of a trivia contest. By the way, who was the first voice of Mickey Mouse. I knew that one.
The person who was distraught moments ago continued and had a fun game, laughed, and did little else. The issue was either gone or forgotten for the moment in the depths of fun.
The point is, or my point is, or the point on top of my head is, that they chose. We choose, and in the depths of the moment we can choose to be lost in all the things that are happening to us, or to find a way to be happy for a few in all the things that are happening to us. Their situation did not change, the list of bad items was still there, but as they engaged with friends and trivia (Like trivia makes it better, hmmm) they found a way to be happy.
It is on you. You can be happy, or not. You can feel beat down by all the junk in your life, or not. You can be you, or be controlled by whatever you want. It is your choice.
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment. Feel all that negative junk floating around? Shuck it off and find a way to be who you want to be. I know you can do so, and along the way, try to make someones day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and it was Walt Disney…
