The sun sets on another day…
It was a stunning sunset that I found myself watching again thinking about all of the times I have written and all of the things that I have said. I also thought about how many times I have used the words stunning sunset in everything I have written. I don’t want to overuse the same words but sometimes stunning is the only way you can describe sunset.
I was listening to an old song and listening more to the words than I usually do. The song was very catchy and fluffy and at the core it was about two people but at a wider level it focused on believing in someone only gives them access to the tools they already have. That’s an interesting thought to me and I felt good about it as I listened and laughed and became a part of it.
I talked a lot about defining our days everyday. We don’t need to whine about the past or pine about the future but instead define who we are and the type of life we will have each and every day. It’s difficult to get that across in many ways. Defining ourselves is sometimes difficult.
There are so many people who don’t necessarily focus on who they are because they’ve never really discovered the limits of who and what they are and instead compare themselves to shallow similacrums lost on the internet. Somehow we now believe that the Internet is real, so maybe I’m a French model.
You, yes you, have every tool you need to be successful. You, yes you, will have a happy life if you just embrace the you that’s there. This is the hard part because all too often people do not see the value in themselves and instead look away and don’t pay attention to any of it. It’s maddening I say.
I think the solution is straightforward but never easy. If it was easy everyone would be doing it but if you look at your life, we need to somehow create the confidence you need to succeed. That confidence may be different for every person.
Let me help you along. You are the only you there will ever be. You are special and better than that your singularity makes you a special part of an amazing world. You can do anything you put your mind to. All you have to do is believe that you can. You can do it, you should do it.
That sounded awfully easy, but I know it’s not. Unfortunately we are often victims of our own shadows and equally as unfortunately, sometimes life throws his curve balls that make us stop believing in ourselves. If it helps at all, I believe in you and I hope you can find your way.
So as the sun sets on another day, you are special. Keep being special all the time and show us the way to enjoy our lives. You can do it and as you do carry the world with you, no matter what.
