The sun sets on another day…
Another sunset comes. The wispy clouds in the western sky light up with colors across the rainbow. There can be no more beautiful moment then the majesty of a sunset. I watch in patient introspection.
The world is an interesting place, right? If we look at the history of our world and put it on a clock, the rain of man is only in the last few moments of the day. We are a blip on the radar of this world. Our arrogance tells us that we are changing the world forever in one way or another. But the reality is much more telling. We are a blip and our lives and even shorter blip.
Well that’s seriously depressing and normally I would set this particular post aside and not speak of it again. It would be filed with thousands of others that I have written, yes thousands, that I feel are negative. This is not negative.
If the entire dawn of humankind is a blip on the history of our world, our lives are noted in milliseconds and because of that every moment is precious. Every second of our time that we waste is a second that can’t come back. Why aren’t we doing everything we can to live our lives?
Yesterday I was talking to a friend and we were talking about getting older and how soon we might be no more and in a very short time we wouldn’t be remembered. There are so many people that have passed in life that are not remembered but maybe it’s different for us. Maybe we will be remembered for something that we do that makes the world a better place or changes us in a positive manner. We have that possibility. We can be remembered.
How?
Perhaps through our children. Perhaps through others. Perhaps by writing a book. Perhaps by making a movie. But it won’t be for some 15 second clip unless it’s a really amazing clip. It won’t be for something that is transient and won’t exist in a very short time.
Be you. Make a difference. Change the world. Change yourself. Be that person that is remembered for all that you are and latch on to it and keep making it real.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope this makes sense and isn’t negative to you. Listen to Sebastian and kiss the girl, or boy, listen to the world and be more everyday. You can make a difference to yourself and to the Future, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and get better Gary…
