The sun sets on another day…
Fleeting moments and fleeting time. The sky opened and swallowed the light and I felt as though the day was shorter, more to the point, but still beautiful.
I enjoy interacting with people. I honestly think that by interacting with people you open up possibilities that you might not you wouldn’t consider otherwise. Good, bad, or indifferent there is always something to learn with an individual in the world. Because of this find myself consistently enjoying conversations in randomness.
I was at a conference today and met a significant number of people who made me smile and challenged me in many ways. I found myself in several great conversations on data analytics and was passionate about the approaches that I listened to. I enjoyed the exciting young people looking for positions in a challenging world and approaching it with positivity and professional rigor. There were many who opened my mind to a variety of exciting possibilities. At the end of the day I ended up in a discussion with two young people you seemed like two sides of the coin.
If you didn’t know I have written quite a few books, and they are on a variety of subjects and in many genres. In my discussion with these two young people we discussed several of the books and one gravitated towards some of my books on fear while another asked questions about a book I co-wrote with my sister “What NOT to say to People Who are Grieving”. As we talked I was fascinated with the maturity and engagement end the discussion clearly scrubbed there aren’t just two sides to people but there are many. Like a coin, the two sides are supplemented by a third side on the edge that offers near limitless possibilities.
My point here today is not to look at people as one side or another but instead to see the myriad of possibilities that people have and the limitless opportunities to grow by interacting. We have the ability of enjoying each other and in doing so we have the ability to learn from every interaction we have, People should be the focus of our days and we should enjoy the lesson and laughter that each person brings to our life.
I giggled a lot, I laughed a lot, I learned a lot and I appreciate each person I interacted with.
