The sun sets on another day…
It was cloudy but it was nice outside. As I watched the sky turn dozens of shades of beautiful colors I felt good about the world. Moments later the rain rolled in and the chimes began singing in the wind. I closed my eyes and there was a moment of peace.
A lot of things in life are purely based on the definition but even more somehow get lost in the lack of a definition. How we define things is at least as important is how we interpret them. Interpretation doesn’t necessarily require a definition but it certainly works better when you have it.
I often laugh at the silly little posters about the use of commas.
“Let’s eat Grandma”
Is certainly different than:
Let’s eat, Grandma”
There are hundreds of examples that make me laugh with everything from hunters to dinosaurs. Of course sometimes it’s intentional and as we define with words and punctuation, it will make a little more sense.
My somewhat nonsensical point that got slightly off topic is don’t assume that people know how you define something until you talk to them.
I had a conversation with AI about this as I was testing yet another model to determine the limits and abilities of said model and multiple times AI got tripped up by simplistic words and phrases that were more conversational then completely objective. This demonstrates to me were demonstrated to me the need for constant communication and for clarity. At least that sounded pretty good.
Do you get lost in the words? Do you put thoughts in other people’s minds even though you don’t really know what they’re thinking? If actions speak louder than words do reactions speak louder than outcomes?
