The sun sets on another day…
The sunset tonight was a round orange globe of pure light. As I watched the sky, I passed a football game and watched the lights come on, shining brightly over all the people watching modern gladiators play on a field. Behind them, the sun slowly moved to the west, and twilight was upon us, but the game was still playing strong.
It’s interesting how friends work together. Sometimes they are very positive, and sometimes the friendship is a little more cursory. I have found that friendship is like circles, and we are constantly moving into different circles as we move along. Like falling in love or meeting people, there’s a lot about our individual tuning fork that makes us either like or dislike a person. But even if we dislike someone, we probably put them in a circle somewhere so we can determine where they are.
As the circles slowly come closer to us, friendship is deeper, and the number of secrets shared can be more prevalent. If there are secrets at all. I have found that my closest friends are the ones that I can trust the most, and they can always trust me. Without regard, most people I interact with can trust me because I avoid lying at all costs, simply because I would never remember what I said.
How do you handle that? Do you find yourself with close friends and lots of them, or do you keep them at arm’s length until they get a little closer? Do you have a lot, a little, or more?
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find at least one good friend in your life. And as you do, I hope that they can count on you to be their friend and that they will defend you at all costs and be there for you no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy your friendships…
