The sun sets on another day…
It was a beautiful sunset and a beautiful day. I was amazed with all of the wonder and enjoyed every moment as the sky shifted from light to dark. I can’t tell you how much it meant to me but I can say it meant a lot.
OK, so I wanted to take the cool picture for the day. I really wanted something awesome. In my yard I have two butterfly bushes that bloom for a long time and smell like honey the entire period they are blooming. They have become staples for the local flora and fauna and because of this I have seen as many as 12 monarchs and assorted other butterflies and moths floating around the bushes. I have also seen a number of hummingbirds that swing in and buzz through the butterfly bushes like little helicopters of doom. My task was easy, get some pictures.
Now I have some serious lenses that I can use but I was working with my front porch and of course dealing with uneasy telephoto lens that gave me 300mm of exciting distance. The lens is macro also so I knew that I could get good pictures and had many times. The problem was, every time I walked over to the bushes, they were empty. Here is me with camera in hand ready to take the most fantastic Hummingbird picture ever taken and no hummingbirds. OK I’ll take the most beautiful butterfly picture in the world, but no butterflies.
After going inside and coming back out for something else 15 minutes later the bushes are covered, I run back inside and get my camera and was quite a distance away so I shouldn’t have disturbed any one but by the time I returned there weren’t even crickets in the area to listen to. Eventually after back and forth I did get a few pictures but the hummingbirds have been elusive and I am going to have to play around the little to try to catch them. It was fun.
Never have something that you would think was easy and all it does is get stuck somewhere? I’m not sure if it’s frustrating but I know for me I got a good laugh out of it.
So as the sun sets on another day, live your passions even if you can’t find what you wanted to do, never give up. Instead of surrendering from your passions, surrender to your passions, and as you do believe in yourself always and make the world a better place just by your existence. Keep believing in yourself, no matter what.
